I'm Teri Walkup, owner of Petsitz In Home Pet Care.  It's my heartfelt mission to provide excellent, dependable, and personalized service to you and your pets, giving them the tender, loving care they're accustomed to receiving.  Extra petting, kisses, and tummy rubs are a significant part of the service we provide!

Originally established in 2002, the Petsitz vision has always been to provide a service to enable pet owners to confidently travel for business or pleasure without having to worry about their precious furry, feathered, and finned family members.

What makes me a special pet sitter for your precious pet?  I love and care for each pet as if it is my own. Since my childhood, I have had many pets. Laddie, our sweet Collie, came into our family because I would sneak food out to stray dogs or cats. He knew a good thing when he saw it and decided to adopt us. As an adult, I have shared my home with two dogs, three birds, numerous fish, and three mice (in cages), though not all at once. Today, my husband and three teen daughters enjoy our sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Lukey. I know how very important pets are to families. They bring joy and unconditional love into our lives and, in return, we offer them security, respect and loving care.

In addition to having experience with animals, I have been a special education teacher in the public schools. I spent a number of years in the classroom teaching and learning from my great kids. Those were wonderful years where the qualities of patience, compassion, and flexibility grew in my life. I also had many opportunities to be the advocate for voices that are not often heard. These are all important traits for a petsitter to have!
